Technical Director

Detailed Job Duties

  • Provide on-site, telephonic, or electronic consultation at the laboratory;
  • Select test methodology appropriate for the clinical use of the test results;
  • Verify the test procedures performed and establish the laboratory's test performance characteristics, including the precision and accuracy of each test and test system;
  • Enroll and participate in an HHS approved proficiency testing program commensurate with the services offered;
  • Establish a quality control program appropriate for the testing performed and set parameters for acceptable levels of analytic performance;
  • Ensure acceptable analytic performance levels are maintained throughout the entire testing process from the initial receipt of the specimen, through sample analysis, and reporting of test results;
  • Resolve technical problems and ensure that remedial actions are taken whenever test systems deviate from the laboratory's established performance specifications;
  • Ensure that patient test results are not reported until all corrective actions have been taken and the test system is functioning properly;
  • Identify training needs and ensure each staff member performing tests receives regular in-service training and education appropriate for the type and complexity of the laboratory services performed; and
  • Evaluate the competency of all laboratory personnel and ensure that the staff maintains competency to perform test procedures and report test results promptly, accurately, and proficiently.

Minimum Job Requirements

  • Doctorate (Ph.D.) in Analytical Chemistry or related field and two years of experience developing and validating assays on an LC-MS/MS platform according to FDA clinical validation guidelines in a high complexity clinical laboratory and troubleshooting and maintaining instrumentation, specifically the Shimadzu Nexera UHPLC, with a Shimadzu 8050 tandem mass spectrometer.

Clinical Data Entry Specialist

Apollo Laboratories – Farmers Branch, TX

 

We are seeking a Clinical Data Entry Specialist. Required duties include scanning requisition forms and performing accurate clinical data entry in the Laboratory Information Management System for all test requests. Candidates must have an associate’s or bachelor’s degree and attention to detail, preferably with previous data entry experience in a laboratory setting. Candidates are subject to a typing test, background check, and drug test. Candidates without required experience will not be reviewed. Pay will vary based on experience. This is a full time position from 8 AM to 5 PM, with the possibility of a Saturday shift.

 

Medical Laboratory Technician

Apollo Laboratories – Farmers Branch, TX

 

We are looking for a qualified MLT (medical laboratory technician) that preferably has two years of experience on a Roche Cobas instrument and a bachelor’s degree in laboratory science, biology, or chemistry. Acceptable candidates should have experience working with blood specimens and hematology instruments in addition to Cobas experience. Excellent attention to detail and typing skills are required. The available shift is days Tuesday through Saturday and pay will vary depending on skill and aptitude. All candidates will be subject to background checks and drug tests. Candidates without required qualifications will not be reviewed.
